Marseille and its 111 neighbourhoods

Let me be your private guide for an authentic experience of the city, a visit of its must-see treasures as well as its untold scenes and secrets.

During the morning, we will visit the south of the city and its beautiful sea front. From the Old Port, we begin by a walk in a lively pedestrian district and continue to the Palais du Pharo, this ancient residence of Napoleon III. Here is one of my favorite view.

Then, from the very popular Catalans beach, we will enjoy a few km of the long Corniche. Forming a stunning balcony over the Mediterranean more than 5 km in lenght, the Corniche attracts strollers, fishermen and jogger or people who love distant horizons.

An amazing view

Then, we will discover two little fishing port, hidden away under the Corniche. A great place to have a lunch, from pizzéria to Michelin star restaurants serving the traditional Bouillabaisse.

Let’s continue the visit and go up to the culminating point of the city, Notre Dame de la Garde. An amazing panorama, a 360° sweep from l’Estaque (in the north) to the Calanques (in the south).

At the end of the afternoon, let’s enjoy the trendy Cours Julien, a lively and convivial district. It offers many alleys, where art galleries, young designers, and street artists have taken over the urban space. This district is a popular meeting place with a large choice of cafés and small restaurants with their colourfoul terraces. The perfect place to enjoy a typical french “apéritif”.
